If you’ve ever wanted to take your dog to a real Highland Estate, then the dog-friendly cottage on South Chesthill is just the ticket. At the end of Glen Lyon, one of the loveliest glens in Scotland, it’s a great place from which to immerse yourself in the Highlands.

This picture-perfect two-bedroom cottage dates back to the 1800s. It has wonderful views towards Glen Lyon and is in a beautiful peaceful locations close to the River Lyon, surrounded by fields, trees and hills. It has been tastefully decorated and boasts all the facilities that you and your four-legged friend will need. (For larger parties, dog-friendly Chesthill house can be booked, which accommodates up to 16 people.)

The South Chesthill Estate has the most stunning Highland backdrop imaginable. As you head out with your dog, lead in hand, you’ll will be spoilt for places to explore as the estate has around 7,000 acres of land and about six miles of beautiful river to discover.

The estate offers a whole host of traditional country pursuits to experience, including walking and fishing. You can also try your hand at pony trekking and golf in the surrounding area. Other local activities include visits to the many nearby distilleries, museums, castles and stately homes.

With so much space on offer, the Estate is a real holiday heaven for dogs and house-trained dogs are very welcome in the cottage (and the main house). The estate only asks owners that if a dog is muddy or wet they ensure that their pet is cleaned and dried before it comes into the cottage.

From outstanding scenery, fishing trips and stags roaming in the hills, this is a great escape for your next dog friendly adventure.
